Hey – I have a plea for help / advice,
I have a lot of spots which are no longer active on my back and they’re slowly fading. Really slowly. Is there anything you can recommend to speed this process up? Scrubs / creams / lotions / potions?
Bio oil is apparently highly recommended but I’m loathe to go down this route because 1) I’m nervous about putting a load of oil on an area of skin that is still clearing (have the odd active spot) and 2) have seen cautionary tales about it not being a particularly great combination with Roaccutane.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi,
Have you tried Jojoba oil, I can’t recommend it enough – got the tip off the acne.org website when I was trying the regimine they suggest. It’s non condogenic so won’t clog your pores & it’s got so many uses such as helping fade spots, make up remover – you can even take your eye make up off with it!
I get it from holland & barratt x

Hello,
I still don’t know exactly what you can and can’t use while on roaccutane, but for scarring the best thing I have ever used is Estee Lauder ‘advanced night repair’ serum – sounds weird but my aunt recommended it after using it on her c-section scars and it worked almost straight away on my acne scars.
Hope you find something that works for you!

Hello, I am just re-looking at this site as it has been about two years since i finished treatment. My scars were really bad after a year on the treatment and my Dr offered laser treatment, i did not want to go down the route as my skin was still healing. I just used an oil free moisturizer every morning and night (as not to block the pores) it took a little while but the scars definitely do go in time if they are left alone. my scars are invisible now so much so i can even leave the house with no make – up on. People at my new job said that they would never have even thought i ever had bad skin.
Just be patient and the scars will go. I hope this helps
