Hello!
Just wondering if any contact lens wearers have had any trouble with Roaccutane. I know it can make your eyes dry but I’m in week 21 and in the last 3 days I’ve developed red, stinging eyes with the redness mostly around the iris. Where my contact lenses would be if I was wearing them.
I’ve been wearing lenses for 13 years and never had any trouble, not changed anything recently. 3 pharmacists thing its not an infection and if I had damaged my eyes from contacts I doubt it would be to both eyes in an identical fashion. Have my dermatology appointment on Thursday so will see what they say and go to the doctors if it gets any worse. For the moment I’m stuck in my glasses
Has anyone else had anything similar?

Hi Beckala,
I wear contact lenses also and I mentioned this to the dermatologist and she said there is no problem wearing them just make sure that I use plenty of drops if my eyes feel dry. I have had the odd day where my eyes have felt gritty and I’ve put my glasses on instead just to give my eyes are break.
I think you are right to be concerned though, get a docs appointment asap or even go to your opticians and get them to take a look. It might be the case of needing some special drops or even just giving your eyes a rest. You may find that if you wear your glasses for a few days your eyes will improve. Have you put some drops in for dry eyes? This might help. I’m glad you have got your dermatologist appointment tomorrow, pick their brains, hopefully they’ve seen it before and can advise you.
Hope your eyes get better soon Beck x
