Hey all,
Hope your spot-fighting adventures are going swimmingly. I’ve been on Roac for so long now I’ve actually lost count of which week I’m on, but I know that I’m nearing the 5 month mark. I had a break over Christmas for a couple of weeks (derm said that was fine), had an energy boost over that break as well then came back on the tablets on 40mg a day. I still seem to have large lumps on my cheeks, or smaller ones that have been there for months and months but seem determined not to budge! Also – blackheads. Still very much present on my nose and on my cheeks a little bit. Does anyone else have this issue? Will they ever go away?
I’ve started to get random really really dry patches on my face this week, and even though they’re impossible to cover with make-up, I’m secretly ‘whoop’-ing as I’m guessing this means it’s the final push and things are clearing up.
In any case, I’m supposed to be finishing in the next couple of weeks and yet I counted up the other day that I have about 50 days worth of tablets yet …
Blablabla!

Hi Sophie,
I came off roaccutane about 10 months ago after a relatively long course (I had to start with tiny doses and then work up). At the end of taking it, I still had what I thought were a few blackheads left (like you mention) over the following few months they actually cleared up (without being spots really). Within about 6 months they’d all gone — I get random little spots around some of them, but they’re nowhere near as bad as the ones I’d get before! I’d chat with your dermatologist, but don’t worry — it sounds pretty normal.
I found Aquaphor was good for keeping skin moisturised with really dry patches — not sure what you’ve tried.
Good luck.
