so here I am, nearly half way through my 4 month course (cant believe how time flys).
Side effects really do depend on the person.. after moving up to 50mg (from 20mg) 2 weeks ago, i havent experienced any new side effect, and all my old ones have gone.. apart from the common dry lips!
Skin wise – my face has cleared up so much, only 2/3 spots on my face (which are not too big but are painful!) .. they cover up so easily though, with bare minerals makeup (recommend!) .. I use to suffer from lots of little spots under my skin, which were so annoying but roaccutane has certiantly got rid of all this!
In my first month, I was experiencing hair loss, which was quite worrying. This has now gone and no hair (apart from the 3/4 strands) falls out daily. Im not sure if this is because of purchasing t gel shampoo or the side effect just settled down. – 1 less worry.
All i can say is the big worry before taking roaccutane has gone! Roaccutane has given me my confidence back!!!!!!!! – just waiting for april 24th so I can complete my course, bit sick of constantly applying lip balm to my dry lips, which ocassionly bleed!
Hi there,
So pleased everything is going well for you and having your confidence back is amazing! Nice one:-)
Good luck with the rest of your treatment. I’m on the final bit now, finish on the 12th March. Like you getting a bit fed up of the chapped lips but a new one for me is conjunctivitis…. ah well, nearly there! Like you, R hasn’t been as bad as I thought it was going to be and has gone so quick.
Regarding your lips have you tried blistex? I put this on every night and first thing in the morning – it’s great. Then, I just pop a bit of lip balm on now and again during the day. So far, not had cracked lips and you can’t tell that I have dry lips.
Take care, keep in touch.
